This week, we recorded our first remote guest on The Critical Path. (In the past, when you have heard guests on the podcast, those people have been sitting right here in the Arcade office with a cup of coffee in hand!) In the era of COVID, we’re all making changes, and learning to work with audio recorded through Zoom is our most recent challenge.
We chatted with Luke Powers, founder of Gearflow, a site where you can find parts for all of your equipment from multiple vendors, so you can compare prices and research those vendors. There are lots of cool features on Gearflow’s future development roadmap, including the ability to rent equipment, and maintain a fleet management dashboard. Luke also has experience as a provider of rental equipment, from working with his family business in the midwest. (In a crazy coincidence, we found out that one of Luke’s family business’ 3 locations is in the town where we went to high school and met!) As soon as we had our first chat with Luke, we knew that this episode would be all about the ins and outs of working with construction equipment.
We talk about:
• Gearflow
• Best practices of managing construction equipment
• Calculating equipment rates for billing to your customers
• Safety tips
